COMMUNITY RESILIENCE & CONNECTION

Community Resilience has been identified as a keystone for helping communities to prevent, prepare, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and adverse events, including drought, floods and pandemics.

The Birchip Neighbourhood House is working in partnership with community organisations & local service providers to build social connections, to reduce isolation and to strengthen individual and community wellbeing and cohesiveness to strengthen their communities for everyday, as well as extreme, challenges.

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

We are the Birchip home of the ‘Buloke Times’. We report on weekly sport, community events and good news stories happening in and around Birchip.

Our staff monitor the Birchip Page on facebook promoting Birchip and it’s going on’s to Birchip community members, and past residents who like to stay connected to Birchip.

We send regular mail-outs to every household in the local area to disseminate valuable information to keep everyone in our community engaged and connected.

At the end of every year, John Richmond collates photographs of significant events that have happened in Birchip and for Birchip people (both past and present) and compiles a power point presentation titled “The Year That Was’.  These presentations are shown at the annual community Christmas party and can be viewed here.
